How should a reference be evaluated for your project?
Look at the type of component and the scope of work, not just the industry name. Responsibilities for design, tooling, manufacturing and assembly may differ between otherwise similar applications. Ask how a published reference relates to your requirements. A project introduction does not promise the same quantity, delivery schedule or performance for every new order; these need to be agreed in the quotation and acceptance criteria.
How do application examples differ from customer evidence?
An application example, an authorised customer reference and a technical test result are different kinds of information. A product photograph or sector description should not be presented as a customer endorsement. Ask which project details can be shared, how confidentiality is handled and whether relevant documents are available. Referencing the appropriate product or solution page helps identify which experience is actually relevant to your enquiry.
